Elizabeth's Bookshops used to be treasure troves of affordable printed wonders in any given subject.

At what point did it become a grimy but equally expensive version of Boffins? Less range, less light, worse condition, no service, but oooo the prices! I'm in the market for Morroccan, Middle East, Art Deco, and Art Nouveau* interior design books and thought (ha!) I might find something second hand.

Good lord, I might need to go to an actual library, or freeze my alien appendages off whilst rummaging competitively at Sunday morning carpark sales.

(*) And while we're at it, why am I utterly incapable of remembering how to spell my favourite design period? All those vowels, dragging me down *collapses dramatically*

I had a coffee today. It was only a little one, honest.

Today, by coincidence, I visited Mainly Books, a second hand bookstore on Bulwer St in Highgate. I am going to do a proper post about this sometime in the near future, but I was so awesomed out by the rickety old shelves piling books to the ceiling, and overwhelmed by the books that I wanted to buy. The prices ranged from excellent to fair, and the range was quite good. So you might be interested in visiting, they're open seven days a week.
