I am home still. Just waiting for this to go away. Still waiting. *whistles*

I thought I'd knock off some recorded TV, but in the process stumbled across daytime television vis a vis Susie!

With the sound off, I might add, in a protective move somewhat akin to towel usage in Hitch Hiker's Guide. Sadly this did not protect me from the persuasive power of the AbKingPro semi-live infomercial. My brain was quite sufficient for that.

The funniest bit was the "folds away for easy storage" part. They never show the guilt-ridden fat person dragging out the cobweb-encrusted machine only to discover that critical plastic parts have gone brittle and shatter on first contact, leaving a mixed sensation of horror and relief, both assuaged by a dose of chocolate. Now *that* I'd like to see. Actually, been there, done that.

A quick google for "The Abdominator"--my personal favourite brand name for such machines--unsurprisingly revealed the term in reasonably common use. Google has a dark side: it crushes the illusion of one's originality.

As for Battle of the Choirs (ep2), the program I actually meant to watch. Hmmm, one word review: avoid. I adore listening to (good) live choral music, and there are enormous benefits to being part of a community choir. However, listening to community choirs on TV (with decidedly less than optimal sound) is not a spectator sport. Not the heartwarming back stories, not the massive amounts of fill, not the bitchy judging. What next? Riding For The Disabled Dressage Idol? Even with the added bonus of fast forward to skip to the actual performances I couldn't bear it. Disappointed :-(

Does that make me evil?
