On power and control

I've been putting it off, but today I finally took Husband's new wheels out for a spin. It's a 2006 Hyundai Elantra 2l 4 cylinder automatic. I've been driving manuals for about 17 years, with one or two brief exceptions. With the exception of cruising for a parking spot or navigating in heavy stupid traffic on twisty dark roads, I usually enjoy driving.

I'm starting to remember

Have had another very productive afternoon. Sorted out the linen cupboard and printed out little labels so chaos will never again grab another toehold there *shakes fist at chaos*. Was astonished at how many pillow slips we have; they were jammed in *everywhere*. Can now lay my hands on a Fitted Sheet - Winter instantly. Consigned some elderly linens to the emergency box.

And for a damn good reason too.

Life is full of bad signs.
Black toes, flocking crows,

Ticking clocks, failing crops,

I'll add to that list, and from my dead hand rip,
The Xeno Solution, by Nelson Erlick.

Stop, for heaven's sake. No more pseudo poetry. I hate it when that happens. Geez.

OK, the bad sign of which I speak is the urge to write an unhappy review before I've finished a book. The secondary bad sign is the urge to not finish the aforementioned book.
