Have had another very productive afternoon. Sorted out the linen cupboard and printed out little labels so chaos will never again grab another toehold there *shakes fist at chaos*. Was astonished at how many pillow slips we have; they were jammed in *everywhere*. Can now lay my hands on a Fitted Sheet - Winter instantly. Consigned some elderly linens to the emergency box.

Swept down the patio side of the house. It's still a bit streaky from the plastering, tiling and carpentry that's been going on, but now that side of the house looks a bit less like a haunted house in Scooby Doo. Not so many dead leaves tangled in old spiderwebs.

Test drive as described in previous post.

Walk to the shops for paper. This used to be a big deal all by itself, and I record it here to remind me of how far I've come. What I find most amazing is that I've been eating particularly "badly" the last week or so because I've not been able to cook much at all. Hardly any F&V, way too much white chocolate and plain chips, but they're all beige-friendly. I've deliberately avoided pears, for although they're on the "almost certainly safe" list I've been suspicious about them for a while. Madness.

ETA. Nearly forgot, also wandered about with a screwdriver and tightened up some cupboard handles. Such a little thing, but so satisfying.

Hellen from the TV show "Neat" recommends storing your sheets in sets - as in when they are all folded, fold them into one of the sheets so they sit together on the shelf as a set. This is assuming you have "sets" and not single sheets I guess.

It took me two goes to get where I am now with my sheets and I reckon I need to attack them again.

Really, how many sheets sets etc do we need? I know I still have too many despite by best efforts. At least I got rid of a lot of my "just in case" items.

The best I've found is to fold the fitted sheet and flat sheet and place them inside the pillow case (with the other pillow case for larger beds). Either that, or put each set under the mattress of the bed it's for. I've been much happier about our sheets—the linen press is my craft cupboard:-)

Somehow I've never managed to have sets of anything. Eclectic would best describe my manchester collection :-)
