The benefits of paint

I made a solid start on painting the kitchen today. Perhaps a little *too* solid, for I didn't stop when I knew I should have, so the neck and shoulders may kick back a little over the next few days. Or maybe sooner :-(
But it's just the kind of activity I've had so much trouble with for several years, so yay me!
Still, I had a great time, and discovered that I have the hands of a surgeon, albeit the kind that Today Tonight tend to be interested in. My kitchen has many many edges, most of which are now defined in a particularly squiggly fashion. It's a look.
This is actually the first interior wall I've painted in this house (coming on for five years now), and it brought back very happy memories of making my mark on our first non-rental place. This is a colour I've picked, going over a colour I've come to loathe. Even with a patchy first coat, the bits I've done already look so much warmer. It's amazing how cold a pale lemon yellow can be; I think it reminds me of cold weak sunlight. And it's just about everywhere in the house, but not quite as much as this morning.
More yay!
I did have one small failure of judgement, when I convinced myself that Pumpkin wouldn't be dumb enough to smear still-wet freshly painted corners *sigh*. I think I caught him in time and confined him to quarters.
