She goes up, she comes down

Today was a good day. I got in 7 billable hours, learned a new skill (web-based reporting from a XempleX model), wrote a set of instructions for same and made some pretty diagrams for and assorted types of progress on my ACS presentation.
Did my 1km swim, although my Magic Rain-Detecting Hip (tm) was twinging a bit on the later breaststroke laps. Fair enough, the hip in question being surrounded at the time by 100% humidity with a 100% chance of immediate heavy showers.
Shared the pool today with a kiddies' Enthused But Unco swim class. Each of the little darlings possessed the energy and buoyancy of an overly wound but poorly programmed clockwork spider. It was surprising how much water each child managed to displace upwards despite the skinniness of their tiny limbs. If they learn how to turn that force 90 degrees around to propel themselves forward they'll be doing OK.
