A spot of catchup of the vehicular variety. Thanks to experiments in food land I've been trying to write this for 3-4 days now. I'm trying to decide whether to keep some of the wildly incomprehensible early bits, or edit for clarity. Inasmuch as I am capable of clarity at present, being still a bit under the influence. Spontaneous backwards handwriting strikes me as a portent of bad things.

I'll let you decide how much I managed to edit this version.

Bus Across The River

Whilst at the office got a call from BB that he was about to run out of a few over-the-counter drugs, so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to storm the buses for the quick trip over the river. As an added bonus I have discovered the bus that goes from the Esplanade busport to the zoo, so public transport to small furry animals, here I come.

I remember how difficult it used to be to find out about bus routes (you had to queue for a while to talk to admittedly friendly and startlingly knowledgable old guys, but you didn't get precise maps). I must say it's much easier to identify a new bus these days from the online resources, although I find the site twitchy and slow. I have a bit of an old phobia about buses, or rather the consequences of catching the wrong one or getting off at the wrong stop in unknown territory. Aforementioned phobia was developed growing up in a one-bus-an-hour suburb and before the age of the mobile phone.

Anywho, have discovered the 30/31 route to BB's door.

I was not wildly impressed with the bus station, but hey, I'm fussy that way. I saw an an astonishing variety of alleged "information displays" presumably designed to frighten tourists and kittens. Bastards.

Baby Bus Downpayment
Husband took the plastic card attached to the mortgage and threw a chunk of it at a wholesale car dealer. He'll be back on Wednesday to post bail and release it from durance vile.

It = our new/old car. Prepositions, he needs them.

Friday 25 April
It being a public holiday with limited transport options, drove Husband to work in Freo. On the way home decided to follow the scenic coast road, and for several km, a police car. I resisted the urge to overtake.

The ocean was very pretty, and I pulled over for a moment to stare westwards and wonder just how cold the water was.

Wheels within wheels

[livejournal.com profile] rdmasters and [livejournal.com profile] leecetheartist uncovered some spare wheels to match the bike they'd given us, so I toddled off to collect and was happy to provide in exchange a loan of some knight themed books. Stayed for an hour or so to observe some fiendishly complex-looking Camelot-themed boardgame. It even started to make sense after a while. Some sense. I resisted the temptation to mime actions to accompany the game play and provide a running commentary. Quite unnatural behaviour for me I might add.

Go seige engines!

Ouch ouch ouch ouch
Bought petrol.

What a shame you resisted the urge. It would have been entertaining! It was Shadows Over Camelot.
