Sorry Part I

Just a brief entry for now because I have to settle in and work (with some difficulty) for I have just come from the Esplanade gathering to listen to the Sorry broadcast from Canberra and am all het up. It was incredible, and I want to do the experience justice.

we tried to get blinky to watch, and kept telling her how important it was. she kept asking for hi-5.

I'm not good at estimating crowds, and have no idea how many were seated inside, but a couple of thousand at least. I was in the thickest part of the mob just outside the enclosure, so I didn't see the whole crowd behind me.

It's a shame about blinky but 2 is just too young to appreciate history.

Come to think of it, five minutes into Nelson's speech and I could have used a bit of hi5 too.

well, hi-5 would have done a better job than nelson - and it would have rhymed.

i want blinky to know in the future that she was there and saw it. my own mother chose to do the shopping during the moon landing and it has always galled me!
