It looks like I've nailed down my summary at least for my ACS presentation in September. Now all I have to do is write the presentation and the script. Oh, and deliver it.

Title: Combining financial and physicals people, data and tools in
business planning


The successful management of all stakeholder requirements and
expectations is a key component of project management and ongoing
operations in any industry. Budgeting and forecasting tasks are
particularly complicated by a sharp cultural and technical divide
between financial and technical personnel, their data, enterprise tools
and desktop solutions. This divide is common to a wide range of
businesses from hospital administration to manufacturing and logistics.
Using the mining industry as an example, this presentation will
illustrate how these differences impact on business processes and
enterprise solution effectiveness, and will propose a method to bridge
the gaps between the two environments.
