Hmmm, tempting

Picked up a brochure at the Concert Hall for the "Maj Monologues Competition": Write a monologue with an expected performance duration of 8-15 minutes to the theme "LOVE AND OTHER CATASTROPHES".
BTW that's their shouting, not mine.
Tempting, although I might freeze under the pressure like the last time I tried to write to demand. I'd go for funny with an underlying pathos for depth, with a smattering of swearing for edginess. I would have to try to forget that my mother might read or hear it.
I'm also a bit rusty vis a vis modern theatre and local trends. What else should I keep in mind to be included in the numbers of "WA's hottest script writers?"
