Rejected, but not fatally

I shall not be touring the nation next year as an alleged expert on business solution deployment.
The relevant ACS education committee selected their themes for next year and then reviewed the proposals, and mine did not fit any of the categories.
I'd become quite excited by the boot-me-out-of-my-comfort-zone prospect, but having failed on the grounds of lack-of-telepathy I'm not too upset. It was very good practice for me to seriously consider it at all.
There's a good chance I'll talk to the WA branch again, so I shall remain in my state-sized pond.
To make myself feel better I point out that mine was one of 17 proposals, 16 of which were rejected. That's right, only one got through. So, I kind of came equal second in the nation :P
