Describing the current state of play would take way too long, but I should recall the results of yesterday’s visit to Dr T my psychiatrist.

Firstly he was very pleased with my state of mind, and agreed and was impressed about my transition to identifying myself as an Artist, rather than a former something or a sick something. He also heartily approved the use of my limited constructive time on Pretty Rock Designs business and technology things.

As is traditional--when things are going well--he mocked my wardrobe.

I asked again if I could switch my Cymbalta to night, because it often makes me woozy a couple of hours after taking it, with almost inevitable sleep if I’ve taken anything more than basic painkillers. It was my recollection that I asked if I could take it at night six months ago, and he said no. He said he said no such thing and it was fine to take it at night. *sigh*

Anywho, took it last night for the first time and it definitely kept me under for a lot longer than usual, and mostly unconscious right up to lunchtime. Just starting to emerge now at 1pm. Of course I’d already taken a dose in the morning, so yesterday was a double whammy. Looks promising as a sleep aid, and if I can tolerate a bigger dose it should be more helpful in pain management which was its original purpose. I don’t recall having particularly bad muscle twitches and involuntary movements (the twitches levelled up) last night, and that will make a big difference to rest right there.

We spent the rest of the time talking about photography. He actually looked up digital microscopes to see what kind of equipment I was using, and assumed I had a wildly expensive rig. He seemed quite startled to hear that I was working with a toy and didn’t even own a DSLR. Sadly that toy is still dysfunctional right now. He’s been bitten by the bug and is buying up big on equipment and software – nice to know I’m funding his hobby if not mine :/ . We fangirled/boi’d about fantasy rigs for a while. Mmmmm. Mechanised rails.
