We were playing On The Underground.

The Giant Flying Squid was courtesy of the Napoleonic Wargame Society, who had programmed a couple of items. They meet every Wednesday night at the Italian club in Perth. I am discussing sending and receiving a delegation from and to WABA as a sort of cross pollination thing as they seem a fun bunch of guys, and us WABA folk do table top miniature gaming too. WABA wasn't involved this year due to late notice and disagreements between them and the committee - I'm told WABA were too 'greedy with wanting memberships' but I'm also told that volunteers are free 'according to WASFF policy' and I'm also told that 'WABA were absolutely brilliant at Genghiscon and previous Swancons and a valuable resource'.

I like the dynamic mix of fan and pro art too, in one, big glorious emcompassing and *contrasting* exhibition. I really like the inclusiveness I find the sudden elitism jarring, to what I feel imnsho Swancon is about. Considering where the fan art was displayed it came up very much as the poor cousin. :-(

Thank you for your entry, steph, it's helped me clarify my feelings about it, and think more clearly. I appreciate that.
