Haven't felt quite up to writing the last day or two (and am certainly not up to sentence construction right now), but I find myself tapping out notes with one spookily-animated hand to the tune of about 6,800 of them. Not a short story then. Hopefully by the time I have the spoons to write the scenes in full my characters will have the decency to re-enact all the interesting things they've been doing today.
Looks like I've successfully tapped into my unconscious, but it took me a little while to realise that one of my characters was myself at 18 years ago. The me in The Book is playing the mentor to the me in the past that I've always regretted that I never had. Clear? Excellent. Zzzzzzz.
My characters are having ideas all by themselves. I can't keep up, but I'm very pleased for them. Writing is much easier when it's done for you.
I mock my recent self who claimed to not care about wordcounts.
Been pondering what genre this might belong to, since I'm no fan of urban fantasy (and I lack the essential hipness). Corporate Fantasy? (not the 1999 movie which I am frankly afraid to research further than google). Enterprise Fantasy? (sounds like Kirk/Spock slash). Organisational Fantasy? Better, but it might confuze the Americans. Cube Fantasy? (not too Dilbertesque?) Cubist Fantasy it is then. Makes about as much sense as anything right now.
Have hormones. Won't travel.
