A couple of days ago I tried to buy a copy of Cake Wrecks the book. It was late, I was lonely, the Internet beckoned... Actually I was inspired to buy it as a birthday present for one of my sisters (none of whom read this blog so we're pretty safe there). She's a mother and has seen her fair share of cakes.

So, late at night I get me to Amazon.com and place an order, shut up shop, then go to bed. The next morning I discover that my credit card transaction has been denied. This kind of thing generally freaks me out ever so slightly, but I tried again and it was accepted. Phew! It's not as if an amazon purchase is out of character for my credit history.

But today I got more unpleasant messages from Amazon to say that my transaction has been cancelled, but this time it's because the supplier has run out of stock and can't fulfill my order. I think the universe is trying to tell me something. I'll give it another go, hopefully from within Australia. If I can get out :-(

And while we're here, tomorrow I have my annual mole scan. Nothing especially dire has caught my attention mole-wise of late, although there's a patch in the middle of one of my tattoos that I hope is OK. It's actually a scaly patch of skin under a scaly patch of tattoo. It's just a warty thing probably, but here's hoping the firy bits of tattoo don't try for a similar bit of burning sympathetic magic.

Tuesday I hope to go to an ACS meeting. The subject is eNewsletters, which frankly sounds dire, but one must pay one's dues.

Sometime very soon I have to organise my next B12 shot. I'm not looking forward to that because I had a horrible preservative reaction to the last one.

It's Biggest Sister's birthday today and to my shame I was unable to get in touch before bedtime (she doesn't believe in the internet!), but BS and BIL like to travel and so there's a good chance they're in Singapore right now eating chilli crab. It's London-Based Sister's birthday this week too. If she's in London today I'd say there's a good chance she'll still be in London for her birthday. No nipping off to Europe this week. I did manage a chat with Middle Sister, who shared the alalrming tale of BIL slicing through his finger while in Cairnes just a few hours before his homeward flight. Oh what fun co-ordinating medical care with a flying schedule. He's back safe now, if not exactly in one piece.

I've started nibbling away at my big Get affairs in order/Create and logde a fresh will task. I wasted a bit of time trying to find a template to record all the relevant information for my executor should I be unabe to communicate: assets, account numbers, tax info, people to contact, medication (assuming I'm still with us at that point), funeral requests etc. Eventually I just gave up and I'm listing and grouping bits of info as they come. The WA Trustees website was seriously broken today.

I've been variously weak, tired, immobilised, in pain, and diseased for quite long enough now. Swancon's over, it's time to get back into Life. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get back to work. I'd also REALLY REALLY REALLY like to get back to the horses.
