stephbgI'm a bit creaky after that--what's it called?--exercise thingy, but I managed an afternoon proper job shift of three hours today. More importantly my freaky analytical skills were both welcomed and feared. And indeed, paid for by the hour.
I'm working on documenting a pile of undocumented reports, derived from a previously undocumented database created by a previously undocumented export method. All I have to do is retrospectively explain what all the numbers mean. Simple questions, like "Does 'latest' mean most recent as per the date of the export or the latest within the data export date range?" and "If this tree displays the organisational structure at the time of export, how do you count the events for positions that no longer exist?"
I didn't *quite* make the developer cry, but he did whimper a bit that the export and reports were both written "quite a while ago".
Muahahahahahaha. This is *fun*.
So, I should be able to keep my improvement urges at bay at the RDA as long as I have an outlet for my... special needs. I may be a menace to society in general, but put me in the right environment and we're away.
And while we're at it, why are the Terminal performance charts labelled by serial number rather than Terminal ID? Eh? Eh? Is there a privacy issue? And if you include more than 10 data points the things becaome unreadable, yet they're supposed to be support for long-term analysis. WHAT ABOUT THAT? EH?
BTW when I flashed my Working With Children card and made the comment that it made me feel less evil, my colleague responded without a moment's hesitation that it simply meant that I hadn't been caught yet. I love these guys.
