Right. I've caught up with the rest of the world and have seen Torchwood: Children of Earth. My home technology is blunted to the point where I had to be present for the ABC2 broadcast tonight, because we can't record digital channels, but now all is well.
How and when exactly did Torchwood transform itself from sniggery snoggery (and the most dickish character ever in Owen) to the amazing bit of drama that was Children of Earth? Why is RTD so bloomin' INCONSISTENT as a writer? He's so much better when he's not trying to be funny. Or is it more complicated than that? Aaarrrgghhh.
I'd like to go back and watch more Torchwood, but I'm not sure where to start. I lost interest--having frankly not exactly gained it--somewhere around the time of a story arc-critical multi-parter involving time travel (there's a big help) and maybe Owen growing some sense, and/or being terribly guilty about something with Jack... Not helping, am I? It was just after Owen fell in love with the 1940's aviatrix who came through the rift. Still not helping, am I? Probably during season 1.
Maybe I should just pick it up at the start of season 3, or the assumed cliffhanger 2-parter at the end of season 2. Bound to be one.
*parks critical brain at door*
I'd forgotten how phwoarish Captain Jack was. Ooh those blue eyes!
*fangirls hopelessly*
