Spoon splurge

I got out! I got out!
Finally made it to Fantastic Planet today; an oft-deferred trip due to the perceived spoon expense. My spoon-accounting skills were right though: it was an expensive but enormously satisfying outing.
Come to think of it I did forget to count the initial wait on the platform for the train. 12 minutes of mostly sitting still = spoon. I was thus prepared for the wait for the homeward journey (14 minutes, no chairs) to be a bit of a drain; watching that train zoom past the crowded platform and the additional 12 minute wait for the next one, priceless.
Having arrived at FP in something of a whirl of triumph I spent a lovely chunk of time chatting with
chaosmanor. I eventually worked my way around to the purchase of a large pile o' books. I may even list them one day. Scalzi, Stross, Dedman, *cough*McCaffrey*cough*, Sawyer et al.
Around the corner then to some outdoorsey place in my quest for proper socks. Bought three pairs, one of which is for skiing. I didn't pay much attention to the label at the time; the fact that it showed someone skiing didn't really strike me as relevant until the shop assistant asked me if *I* was going skiing. I don't get that question a lot. Having just returned from a walk in the aforementioned socks I can report that they are *awesome*. Dude. Bestest socks EVA. Did I mention that they were floral? And knee-high? And mooshy? Purrrrrr Purrrrrrr Purrrrr...
