Peasant that I am, I am forced to await the pleasures of free-to-air programmers to access my television viewing. Tonight, therefore, was my first exposure to the latest version of Merlin.
It's not possible to be not distracted by real or imagined historical inaccuracies and/or inconsistencies, so there's that to get over. Then there's the irritating whiny adolescent angst thing. And the unlikely romantic bits. Then too, the disappointingly limited Pretty Horsie action.
All up, it was going to be a "Meh".
And yet... somewhere along the line I started to like it. Go figure. I shall have to delve into flist history to see what the cool kids thought, or you could save me time and post links to your own reviews in comments.
