While I was sleeping

Some bright spark in the media changed the rules of dressage scoring today.
According to the news on the radio this morning, some Australian scored "a perfect 10" in the dressage. That's odd, thought I, for the last time I looked dressage was scored on penalties, and while 10 penalties is a very respectable effort, it's hardly a perfect score. Did someone score a perfect 0 or a very respectable 10? Neither, it turns out, but rather a leading 30-something. Go media. Go somewhere.
Speaking of the horsies, I've been trawling various coverage guides for equestrian coverage. I read somewhere that SBS was covering it, but today I could only find a footnote mention in the is-there-an-Australian-in-it-with-a-chance-of-a-medal? coverage of The Evil Seven. Looks like I'll be recording huge blocks of coverage for the privilege of 30 seconds of horse with some idiot commenting how boring international dressage is, but that we should stick with it because "it's harder than it looks".
*grumble*
*pines for horsies*
Painting
Managed to bestir myself to wash down the feature wall in the bedroom and put up the first coat of suede FX paint (the Pilbera-orangey Tosca). Hopefully the arctic breeze currently swishing unhindered through the house will help to disperse the fumes. Until the next section and/or coat.
I'm afraid I cheated and quite literally painted over the cracks, some of which made a disturbing appearance while I was washing the wall. I was only using a damp cloth and warm soapy water--buffed dry immediately to remove fluff--but I stopped a few times to watch cracks appear in the paint and grow before my very eyes.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this cavalier attitude to repair will be typical for the rest of the room, but I am using a textured paint effect after all, and a desert theme at that, so cracks will be part of the concept. I'll not skimp on the wall washing, though, for I'm sure there's a fine layer of cement dust on the walls left over from the bathroom destruction.
Solar radiation and the movement of bodies of air from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure
Enjoyed a walk to the shops and the hanging and rescue of laundry. Mmmmm. Good drying weather. I'm looking forward to a week of sunshine. Oh yes.
Swancon
Have been getting my teeth into art show stuff for Swancon, namely giving the old much-recycled instructions and regulations a bit of a spring clean. Some interesting stuff lurking in the fine print. I like the idea of having all the info ready to go on the web site at least 6 months before the con. Art sometimes takes time. Ditto masquerade.
Stuff
I'm quite proud of myself for getting anything at all done today, for I've been hit hard of late by depression. Having established that some of my food reactions trigger depression, I thought it not unreasonable that now I'm beige-trained I would be able to reduce my anti-depressants. Anyone who's ever tried to reduce (or even just find) their AD dose will understand that it's a bit of a rocky ride.
