Not having got around to networking, we have a USB stick at home we use for transfer between the old PC and the laptop. It's gone from "the stick" to "Mr Sticky".
Naming a pet is an important responsibility. No "Puss" for us, oh no, but sometimes the original name has to be updated to match the beast's personality.
Pumpkin (the Birman) has kept the name I gave him at the pet shop on first sight, but also delights in any of the following:
Cally (originally called Kelly when we purchased her from the Cat Haven) was named after the character of the same name (but different spelling) in Blake's Seven. AKA:
Princess has a more complex history of nomenclature. Originally named "Sprinkles" at the Cat Haven, my heart told me she needed to be renamed "Nefertiti Twinkle Toes". My head would have none of it, so I settled for Twinkle Toes, Twinkle for short. She had and continues to have very tiny delicate white paws and is very touchy about them.
Her personality led to the nickname "Princess" until I eventually made it official and changed her records at the vet to her current full name "Princess Twnkle Toes". She is now called Princess or Twinkle in equal amounts, with the odd "Fluff" or "Daddy's Girl" thrown in.
Collectively, Pumpkin and Twinkle are referred to as "The Fluffies".
Collectively, Pumpkin, Twinkle and Cally are referred to as "The Kittens".
My mother has long since given up on human offspring from her youngest and refers to our cats as "The Grandkittens".
The late Squishy was thus named because she was very soft and affectionate. Unfortunately, sympathetic magic led to her being run over by a car.
My family has trouble remembering how many cats we have.
