Pretty rock of the day: MoA geode

Every geode is unique. This one reminds me of the map of Australia, with appropriate apologies to those who live in poorly represented geographical areas. It's usually Tasmanians who get the shaft here, but I reckon Tassie is included quite well for once. Shark Bay is having a good day.

Pretty rock of the day: Peacock ore

Peacock ore--rather unsurprisingly given the name--can be very flashy stuff. So much so than when I went hunting for my specimen, it took me a little while to recognise it. My piece is by no means flashy. However, I've learned my lesson and looked forward to taking the photos to find what treasures lay in this little rock, and I was pleasantly surprised at the results.
