Would it be safe for me to publish my thoughts about this year's Masquerade entries, given that I wasn't actually there and have only seen Rob's photos? Having been vaguely threatened with the judging job I formed a set of rules I'd planned to use to assess each entry, most of which I've derived from a keen observation of the process over the years and the type of questions asked of me personally.
Which leads me to wonder: are there any official guidelines for the judging process?
ATM I don't know who won what or what the basis for the decisions was this year, but I am curious about the process, especially given the sort of frightening fuss generated by the Tin Ducks and Ditmars.
I have similar questions about the process used for the judges' prizes in the Art Show in particular, and the other competitions in general.
