Soggy, but in a good way
Jun. 14th, 2007 04:46 pmFelt awful this morning, but realised a chunk of that nausea/headache was a crick in my neck that had been building slowly but surely for a while. After lots of DIY contortions I thought I'd best see the physio but changed my mind and went for a swim/hot soak this afternoon instead. Had low expectations but eventually finished up with a whole km. Helped a lot by a mostly empty pool so no cross-currents, lane sharing and waves in the face when least expected. And wonder of wonders, a full 25m underwater at the end. Topped off with a soak in the spa.
I kept egging myself on to do "just one more lap" and "you're so close to 1/2, 3/4 and 1km (respectively) - how can you stop now?" Why "egging" on? It's very femo-centric. Why not "sperming" on? Eeeewwww, that's why.
Now? I may have made a teensy error of judgement - exercise is very much a double-edged sword for me - but I feel quite virtuous. May still need to go to the physio but at least I made an effort when I felt distinctly blech.
I also managed to get a bit of work done at home so the day wasn't a total loss.
