Started this afternoon with a bit of map studying and advanced navigation to get to the house of books and dogs for a Swancon meeting. Such a bright and interesting bunch, with lots of ideas I cannot yet reveal. Damn, I thought the secrecy thing would be over once we announced the guests *bounce bounce bounce*. No conspiracies, promise, just lots of ideas in progress. BBQ next Sunday for first opportunity to corner a committee member in person, although we've got a big batch of ideas from just the lj chat so far.
We can do a 19 stream program over 37 days, right? Right?
From thence made it via a roundabout route to BB's place to pick up a couple of rugs. Floor coverings are a no-no for wheelchair life. I foolishly relied on memory for part of the trip but it's quite a few years since I worked at Tech Park and took a couple of wrong leftish turns at some roundabouts on my way through. Who invented SoR?
From there went to visit BB, taking the scenic route along Mounts Bay Road. Didn't stay long, just enough to be tapped for a head massage. Can't really talk properly when there are other visitors there (biggest sister and b-in-law), but wanted to squeeze in a visit before BB's worn out with appointments, discharge and settling in to the flat over the next couple of days. Then there's the next round of chemo...
But today he was quite perky, breathing fine, voice almost normal, and managed the wheelchair-to-bed trip much more easily. Not quite like a gazelle, but better than your average zombie. Maybe like a zombie gazelle? He's almost lost his sense of taste, but on the bright side he's smoking less because he's not enjoying it so much. I'll just have to double the massages to make up for the nicotine hit.
And then home to my beloved, the kittens, too much TV and some yummy boiled rice and celery. Tomorrow I work!
