It's also predictable, tedious and unimaginitive. Ok, sure, a TV pilot based on a movie franchise has to touch certain bases, but I've had all the base touching I need. Heavy-handed sound track too. Sad bit. Dramatic bit. Action bit. Sad bit.
Did they *have* to do that robot-tilting-its-head-just-before-it-attacks thing over and over? I'm generally in favour of the move--it being very feline--but it was just a smidgen contrived in this context. And it clearly didn't help anyone's aim.
I did enjoy the brief scenes where River/Summer behaved like a normal teenager in lipstick and was thus unrecognisable, but she quickly morphed back into enigmatic-power-girl.
It's OK, but life's too short and I'll live without it. Maybe worth the effort for the young things who've not yet been overexposed to regulation kickass females and wishy washy whiny snaggy bois. I fit none of those categories, being an overexposed old thing.
