Selective attention

Have received my paperwork for the sleep study next week, which included a list of things to bring. The interesting short version of the list includes: night attire, reading glasses, pillow, alcohol, sedatives and a camera.
Sounds like a packing list for a short sighted porn star.
* Night attire
What if you sleep naked?
* Toiletries (if a regular shaver, please shave before arrival)
Shave where? Where exactly are those electrodes going????
* Reading material
Something to get you in the mood. I hear Laney Cairo's pretty good.
* Usual bedtime and morning medications (including sedatives if you usually take them)
Particularly if you have healthy kidneys and an interesting tissue type. Don't mind us, this is routine. Have an extra two or three...
* Alcohol if you normally drink prior to retiring (However this should not be more than four standard drinks)
Four standard drinks and I wouldn't make much of an impression on the EEG for a week.
* Reading glasses
Only if you want to read the fine print on those consent forms. Don't bother, it's nothing important. Really. Just sign already. Now.
* Your own pillow (if you wish)
That dream about eating a giant marshmallow only works with your own pillow, and it's fun to watch and we get it on video
* Nasal CPAP apparatus (including mask and tubing), IPPV or mandibular advancement splint (if you use one of these)
Who doesn't? Really sweetie, get with it
* Medicare card and Private Medical Insurance details
Doesn't matter. You'll still pay
* A camera (if you wish)
Unless you've already got all the images you need of you covered in electrodes
