Shuffling deckchairs

I've been slowly but surely rearranging the non-feline pretty things in the loungeroom--just for the change of scenery--and I've discovered something unexpected: I don't have any blue things.

I do have some blue things, obviously, somewhere, but my chosen decorative palette is absolutely dominated by reds and greens. The yellowish and brownish side of things is naturally weighted by a love of polished wooden artifacts (ah, you thought it was just rocks!) but the green is a bit more sneaky. My favourite horse figurine just happens to be green. I can see three green ceramic items, and four green rocks.

Actually, the recent rearrangement has removed most of my test reds which is not exactly catastrophic, but will have to be remedied. One of my best Depression (as opposed to depression) tests is my ability to distinguish red from other colours. I look around now and can see a few hints of bright red here and there, but not enough to be reassuring. Sadly one of those sources of red is a bloody scratch on Cally's nose, courtesy of Princess :-(

In non-colour-related news, I used up many spoons today in pursuit of a better mobile broadband deal from my ISP Three (how I hate their name). (For those who came in late, I have no alternative internet access.) This was inspired by the first monthly excess bill since we upgraded to 3GB and ouch it was nasty. I blame a growing desire to watch HD clips of pretty things, no matter how long the wait. I figured there was a good chance by now that the lovely people at 3 had increased the download allowance for the flat rate that I pay per month, but had naturally failed to inform me. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's not very legal for them to charge me thus; I'm not even on a contract. For the same money as a new customer theoretically buying the same product I'd have received 33.3% more. Much head-banging later I had indeed managed to increase my allowance from 3GB to 4GB at no extra charge. No cash charge, but omg the communication hurdles! Between website, phone system and human barriers it took far too long *wilt*.

Am attempting to make progress on the job redesign, but am being delayed by either an obstreperous web server and/or a sadly unmotivated sales team. And that chronic pain & illness thing.

In other financial/tech news my LJ account is about to run out. I confess to some nervousness about the security of the impending renewal transaction. Hello Russian Mafia!

In other other news my driver's license just turned 20 (21 including the first year on P's). In that time I have not lost a single demerit point. I did get a minor speeding fine once but it was in a speed trap on the downslope of a steep hill and my car wouldn't have made it over the crest if I hadn't gunned it, and it was less than 10km over the limit. It was about the time that <10kph+ fines were introduced, so doing 70kph in a 60kph zone was still considered culturally acceptable. I still want a cookie. Give me a cookie.
