Spent a couple of hours this afternoon at Supanova, slowly freezing in the Robinson Pavilion at the showgrounds. I sat/huddled/hovered behind the Swancon table in the most pleasant company of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Saw many many cosplayers, and a vast array of media with which I normally have no truck. I did but see two Gladiators passing by, and yet I'll remember their sagging elastic until I die. Spotted a few familiar faces, but mostly a strange Uni-aged crowd by late afternoon.
I sold chocolate (a satisfying and easy activity, particularly as the temperature dropped and energies flagged) and extolled the wonders of Swancon to anyone who caught my eye. The absence of additional charges for guest photos and autographs proved a popular selling point. I assured one girl that yes, we talked about Buffy, and Angel and Firefly, and the we even had the kind of workshops "where you could make your own Mr Pointy". Well, we *might*.
I bought a new fitted Swancon T-shirt for myself. Whilst determined to buy a medium, and making mock of all advice to the contrary, actual sight of a teensy tiny "medium" forced me to concede and I bought a large.
What else? Ah yes, an excellent hug as always frommynxii, and while I asked kae_dash if I could stroke his leather-clad arm, he insisted I stroke his leather-clad leg as well. Woohoo.
Then the clock struck six and we made our escape. Thence began an unpleasant period of dark cold wet navigation and less than optimal driving (sorry, everybody). I'm made for the open road, baby, not Subiaco in Winter. Ick.
Duely delivered certain objects of power to a snifflyshrydar (eventually), then swung around the big circle to drop off buoy_wonder and make it home just in time for Top Gear. Alas, no Top Gear tonight :-(
Clocked up 69.8km today, all in shocking conditions. On the bright side, I got to park for free on a paved surface rather than the mud I was half expecting.
Husband, for reasons that escape me, has been wanting to watch Enchanted for some time, so this he offered this as alternative entertainment. I was a bit weary of second string fractured fairy tales (Shrek II and III, Happily Never After, Hoodwinked etc etc), but it looks like sufficient time has passed, for I found this reasonably amusing. I just realised that a key scene was missing: no-one in period costume stole a white police horse to charge through Central Park, like the one with Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman.
