What did I do during Cyclone Alby in 1978? I stood outside communing with the wind until I was dragged inside for my own safety.

I got sent to school as per usual that day. Was a very wet walk, and a very sodden day indeed.

I remember the radiators covered with sodden socks so they could be dry for 0.5s when we went home again.

We went to the beach and stood right at the sharp edge of the dunes into the wind, leaning over into the wind at as sharp an angle as we could.

I don't think our parents knew about this.
