Now my ears are ringing and I may throw up

You are a dog
Or maybe you are a mosquito, you certainly can't be human.

The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 21.1kHz
Find out which ultrasonic ringtones you can hear!

This link was interesting. I had heard about the ultra sonic ringtones and had been curious about them. I'm in my forties and was glad to find out that I can hear 21.1 kHz loud and clear. I wonder if there will ever be a funny incident with a young person assuming I cannot hear something because of my age.

Pffft...two clicks on other links and I find a report that says the final 'recording' doesn't have any sound file in it. That would explain why it isn't being heard !

Two ways of testing it were reported. One was with a dog listening and seeing when it reacted, the other was to download the file and to put it in a program that allows you to look at audio files visually.

I just did the 'dog' test on the links to your page. Nope. No recording. The pricking of Doggie-girl's ears tells me that there is no sound in the last file.

Cute trick.

That would explain why none of my friends reported being able to hear that last tone. I was planning to check my laptop's audio capabilities, but I was fairly confident about the result for I perceived a clear difference between 21.1kHz and "nothing". Now I wonder how high I can actually go...

Yes, I wondered that too. I just had a play on a waveform generator. I can still hear clearly at over 22kHz, but I don't know how to get this particular generator to go higher.
