Some of those NaNo words

Here, have some of my unworked NaNo crud. Not today's, but it hardly makes a difference. I apologise to the half a dozen people who might read this and suffer from its awfulness (you have been warned). And oops, sorry for bringing about the collapse of civilization and hastening the heat death of the universe with my hobby.

Please note that I am yet to sort out the minor issue of character names. In other sections I have dialogue with X, Y, and Z. Poor undifferentiated things (it's early in the piece and they are in fact not yet differentiated), but it keeps me moving along.

Worms for the day

Am very proud of the writing progress for today, for though I felt particularly unwilling I ended up with a fresh 700 words in the dreaded beginning bit. That almost qualifies as actual rather than token progress. Read more... )

Nanu nanu

Fortunately for the purposes of NaNoWriMo I was struck by inspiration and did my writing session this morning, before breakfast. Before, indeed, checking my e-mail or opening the first web browser for the day. Not so much struck by inspiration as dragged by it to the laptop.

I can't believe it's not NaNo

Did my writing session today. A few hundred words of honest prose that one of my characters wrote for me to set up a scene. How kind of them. I think.

It's not NaNoWriMo, but it will have to do

In theory Nanowrimo should be a relatively easy prospect for me this year, as I have easily 50K or more words planned out and ready to go into The Book. With the basic story structure in place I'm no longer gripped by the fear of narrative drift, so even if I churn out bad words, they've a good chance of being relevant if not salvageable or inspiring.
