Insight

I've just (successfully) made a little joke in the office re the fact that I did something in the late 80s and gosh-wasn't-that-a-long-time-ago-aren't-I-incredibly-old-yes-I-understand-that-37-is-still-quite-young*.

It occurs to me that I use this premise quite a bit, and there's a fine line between trotting out a running gag and simply banging on about something.

Please let me know any time you think that's happened. Do I trot or bang?

(*) I actually have a lot of good reasons for doing this. Try being told by your beloved father that he "won't feel old until you leave home" or "it's OK until you turn 40".

Definitely trot.

I too have a fear of banging. I just told the eleventy millionth person about having to break through a layer of ice to get to the free non-alcoholic champagne that was served at the halfway point of the fun run J & I were doing around Central Park in New York at midnight 1/1/2002.

Interesting hydration choice.

Yes, I think failure to sufficiently hydrate before the race was a factor in me having to jog/walk the last km or so. That and the knee injury I hadn't quite recovered from...

Ook! Your counter has passed 965 :)
