Pretty rocks: more fluorite
This morning Husband was coerced into taking kindly took me up to Wanneroo Markets to check the rock shop there for my missing green fluorite octahedron (d8). And lo, here is the new green one amongst its other friends:

More and higher res images are here, including slightly improved outdoors shots of the purple and green in matrix (at a wild guess the other stuff on the sample is calcite). Not very much improved, as the light was a bit too low and diffuse for my liking, and I couldn't find a way to make the flash work against the better judgement of my camera. I could have done with a bit more sunshine and sparkle. *pause to pray that I am never attacked by the photography bug/monster*
The green one I managed to find today is a bit pale, so there's always a dark green octahedron to keep an eye out for ;-)
I may or may not get around to taking closeup pictures of the others, but I do have some really nice samples. The jumble of cuboids makes them look like tiny cities.
