Number crunching

[livejournal.com profile] fe2h2ho has pointed out that my stats will only grow if I include a link that gets followed, or someone feels the urge to comment.

This rather reminds me of an idea I had for a Swancon panel to develop the perfect title for various genre stories and novels (e.g. fantasy must include the words "dragon", "crystal" etc).

What particular keywords would tempt you to follow a link of mine? Apart from the obviousness of posting a direct question, what makes you comment?

I follow all your links - I think that you are an interesting writer. I comment when I feel that I have something interesting to say. I can comment more often, if you like, but it would be stuff like 'I agree.' or 'Gosh. That sounds great/bad/violent/disgusting/wonderful.'

'Gosh. That sounds great/bad/violent/disgusting/wonderful.'

Wow, that would be one hell of a post. Is that a challenge? ;-)

I would like you to comment - I'm never sure if the contents of my brain correspond to those of anyone else's. I'm interested in your thoughts.

A post describing childbirth would cover all of them. I can't think of another one.

Or perhaps a day at the royal show.

That could work. I've done some (mildly) perverse things at the Show.

*wince*

I follow most of your links already. :)

Well, if a friend want some stats improved, I guess I could comment.

I was surprised at the lack of dragons at the Swancon art-show this year - had been contemplating a cynical dragony attempt for a prize, but didn't get my act together in time.

I like reading you, so I generally click on your links anyway.

hmm, must jump in on the side of fangirls - I tend to not follow links that say 'don't read this', or 'only boring stuff', or other discouraging things, on the assumption that no-one would be pretending to be discouraging me. Other than that, I follow your links (unless I'm tired and grumpy, in which case I don't follow anyone's link, and mumble about why can't everyone by like [livejournal.com profile] cassiphone, who puts lovely long reviews (thoughtful, insightful ones too) up without cuts...but you can't change me being tired and grumpy, not without telepathy and a very long stick for the provision of chocolate)

I pretty much follow all cuts—unless the title is along the lines of 'list of things for me to do'. (At least of people I read regularly.)

I like the panel idea :-)

I follow liks depending on time and likely content (including NSFW)

I mostly comment when I have something to say, but sometimes just to let the poster know that I'm reading. (however, I'm still trying to work out what to say to acknowledge that I read a post a friend made a few days ago that came with an explicit directive that neither sympathy nor advice was desired.)

Um, keywords.. Health, cephalopods, cats, puzzles, wordplay, depression, celebration, news... But yes, I'll follow most cuts eventually.
