Again with the B12

Tonight I have ingested my first under-the-tongue spray of liquid B12. I have discovered that it's quite difficult to spray something under my tongue.

In theory 1 spray = 500 micrograms, but I imagine that I gave myself a wussy fraction of a full spray. The plan was to use an eyedropper to control the dosage, and I even remembered to get one, but the packaging doesn't enough information to calculate dosage by volume. The bottle contains 50ml of solution, but there's nothing to indicate how many doses (sprays) that includes, nor the volume of a single dose/spray.

I don't thing I'm in regulated medicine land any more.

Stay turned for burning and itching on the face and forearms, and whatever else used to happen. I shall have to look it up on lj tag=b12 or just let it happen and single-blind myself.

It won't really matter if the dosage is a bit rough, as I've already established that I react to impossibly (but not homeopathically) small doses of crushed B12 pill. If things go south scale isn't really going to matter here. I hope.

I note that it contains ethanol as a preservative, which is beige-friendly, but I suspect it's not very random-breath-test-friendly. I smell mediciney. And it's getting worse. I shall have to make sure I don't take this stuff prior to driving or socialising. XP

I used to use Rescue Remedy in drops-under-the-tongue (sublingual) format. I've tried many things my friends. It's an infusion of flowers quite thoroughly drowned in alcohol. It is my belief that the alleged anxiety-reducing properties of Rescue Remedy have more to do with the illusion of being drunk than anything else. It's a shame I have no pleasant memories associated with drinking alcohol.

*g*
my sister used to use Rescue Remedy (and other homeopathic bits) on her kids ... the eldest spent a large amount of his first 6 months zonked out of his head ... she didnt seem to comprehend that a baby's small body mass==gets drunk on small amounts of alcohol. She wouldnt use the water-infused stuff because it had sugar in it ... um .. alcohol, degenerates into sugar .. something else she didnt seem to get, despite having done biol at school ....

Of course, at some point (about 2-3) child+alcohol equals screaming bundle unable to sleep, so it stopped eventually :P
