I'm about 2/3 of the way through Swancon GoH Scott Sigler's novel Contagious (sequel to Infected) and I can't put the damn thing down. Aaaarrggghhhhh! (in a totally good way).

Apologies to the folk at Fantastic Planet but I just haven't been able to get into town to buy it there. I had to take the opportunity when I saw a copy at a chain store.

Must. Read. Now.

It looked good, but I haven't read the first one and it didn't seem to be at FP while I was there. And no, I didn't think of asking you to order it in, guys, why would I do that?

I figure it'll be ordered before Swancon anyway, right? I don't plan to go, but those definitely look like my kind of books.

I bought Infected at Planet Books. You really have to read that first.

Yes, I figured that when I took a quick look at Contagion. Is ok. I'm sure I'll be able to find the first one soon. It can go on my mental list of Books to Buy when I spot them. I'm not allowed to buy anything not on that list at the moment; one of my so-called resolutions = buy fewer books on impulse, i.e. less crap.

Hm. Probably time to go to bed now.

These aren't crap so the rules don't apply :-)

I'm still trying to figure out why, if Contagious is the sequel, why it came out in standard paperback before Infected (which doesn't come out in standard pb until March - fortunately, in time for Swancon).

I'd have to walk all the way to the other side of the house to check, but wasn't Infected self-published, whereas Contagious is a Hodder? Is Hodder retrospectively publishing Infected as a standard pb? I originally read Infected as a free pdf download, and then there's the podcasts; Scott doesn't seem to do the usual thing :-)
