Up at 5
I woke up early this morning (du nu nu nu nuh) to the sound of birdsong, so I followed my ears outside. It was much brighter than I expected, for though the pre-dawn light was blushing the Eastern horizon, the Moon cast a strong silvery glow in counterpoint. I sat, listening to the birds grow louder, more confident, and more numerous. But distant; my yard was still shadowed in darkness, so perhaps my birds were slow to rise. As the morning glow found the shadows of my yard, my birds chimed in, with notes of startling volume against the background of whistles, chirps and chatter.
I tried to ignore the neighbour's pool filter, and the early hoon traffic. Can't have it all I guess :-)

(I woke up around 5ish, appreciated the colour of the sky, and then closed the blinds and went back to sleep.)
