So you think you can dance (China)

What happens when western ballet tradition meets Olympic class gymnastics and Peking Opera training? This is impressive.

What I find particularly impressive is the presence of the safety officer in the latter half of the performance. That's big biccies for Chinese acrobats.

But, but, she balanced on his head on point and turned around. How? How?????

How did she move and how did she move without tearing his hair out? Perhaps he's had a tiny turntable installed in his skull.

He had his hands up so maybe he helped her turn by lifting her slightly off his head?

Absolutely amazing stuff!

Standing on point is hard. Turning on semi-point is not exactly easy.
Standing with one knee in front of your face is also impressive in its own right.1

I was already calling impossible when she stood on his shoulder on point, and then he started promenading round the stage.

Balancing on his head on point with the other leg pointing straight up while she turned?

I'm somewhat lost for words.

1My brother took this photo a year or two back - I was already impressed with the assumed captured moment, then he told me that Ms Kaplan was happily just holding the pose until he said he was done..

Ow ow ow!! Overextension of the knee!!

*has nightmares*

No really, it was very impressive. But I even consider doing ballet turnout and my knees contemplate dislocation.
