Star Trek VII: Generations

Yep, still going.

Star Trek: Generations

Not much to say about this one. It's finally emerged as a ST film without instantly reminding me of Star Wars, so there's progress of a sort. I was pleasantly surprised to find the fondly (but not accurately) remembered saucer crash in this film rather than the next one where I thought it might have been. A bit rough to lose two Enterprises at once :-(

I'm pretty sure the Spot The Cat who emerged from the ruins of the crash was not the same Spot The Cat as appeared earlier in the film (I love a good continuity error and live cats are a good place to start). But the Kirk body double was much more believable this time, and it was nice to see a bit of old-fashioned fisticuffs in a rocky wasteland (complete with conveniently breathable atmosphere).

No Space Bikinis, but for once I didn't notice the lack. What's wrong with me?

I find myself curiously unmotivated to watch ST:TNG after this. I think we'll just cherry-pick a few episodes here and there after the movies are done. Only a couple of movies to go, but I don't think there's anything in particular to look forward to in the remainder.

EDIT: How could I have forgotten Data's "Scanning for Lifeforms" song? Husband tells me I sang it for a year after seeing the film for the first time. It was right up there with "I'm Going To Eat You Little Fishies (Because I Love Eating Fish)" from Red Dwarf. I may have to add "I love scanning for lifeforms" to my .sig.
