I've seen this around and wasn't planning on doing it, as I often have trouble remembering what I did in any particular 12 month period, and was too lazy to study my own blog for reference. This will be the insomniac version of 2008. Might be surprising, might be repetitive. Could be vague.
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Stroked a tiger.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
They weren't resolutions per se, but I covered some major bases. Ditto plans for next year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! Several!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Wrenchingly, yes. More than one.
5. What countries did you visit?
Me.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A healthy happy family.
7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
20 March, the date of Marta's funeral, Husband's car accident, and my aborted first night of Swancon
13 October, my birthday, and the last visit with my brother.
4 December, my 15th wedding anniversary and Tiger Day
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Making BB happy and comfortable. Travelling to deliver a lecture.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Failure to attend to my diet and exercise needs.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
All of the above.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
New kitchen rangehood.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Kevin for the beautiful Sorry Speech.
Quite pleased about the people who voted for Barak Obama.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
American financiers. Anyone who exploded a bomb in a crowded market place. Anyone who lit a fire that they allowed to get out of control.
14. Where did most of your money go?
House, medical expenses
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Touching a tiger
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Not usually my thing, but perhaps "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" played at BB's funeral

Paid work

Yes. All over again.

I don't do hate.

Understanding employers/clients

A brother.

I was 38, and visited my dying brother for the last time. It was a good visit, and he gave me a thumbs up as I left. I went home and watched Top Gear without really seeing it. Couldn't sleep.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Better brain chemistry. More David Attenborough.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Attending to the laws of decency.

Husband. Medication. Cats.
