Was it really a gherkin?

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now,(even if we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ (if the spirit moves you) and see what your friends come up with.

I remember the first time we went to the Sydney Mardi Gras, stayed right in the heart of the city and spent the entire night cheering till we were hoarse, running amuck amongst the happy and beautiful people filled with the delight of themselves and their activism. I remember that we ended up in some strange little all night cafe eating apple pie for breakfast, contemplating whether we wanted to go back to the hotel to sleep, or continue the adventure - every minute we lingered was a shared moment of never wanting the experience to end.

That time we hustled pool. And the confrontation with the bikers afterwards. I had no idea you could handle a cue like that.

I remember when we were watching the solar eclipse from the treetop walkway in Kings Park, when that old man collapsed.

Running through the trees together, avoiding the bullets, in the dim half-light and all the doubled crescent leaf shadows all around, still seems surreal to me.

Especially the bit where you spotted the sniper and knocked him out of that tree with a brick. Where did you find that? And that was one hell of a throwing arm..

Remember that month in - no, no, you wouldn't, would you? They still have that virus they isolated from your lumbar puncture, you know. I could tell you where it is, but %^&(*&#)%(*_)(@$

We made cookies. Lots and lots of cookies. I hated cookies for a month afterwards, but you wanted to make more.

I remember that party in '89. The can of petrol, the rag, the glint in your eye. Talking Heads' 'Burning down the house' was playing, and never has the much misused word 'literally' been so much fun.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the hot air balloon flight over the Bungle-Bungles

I remember your fancy dress birthday party in Midvale! Pete and Don (and I think Daniel) came to my place first where we all got dressed up, then went to your place. I had a lot of fun putting makeup on Pete B!! And wearing some sort of Egyptian sphinxy type of costume.

the day I met your mother, I wasn't wearing any underwear

(I'd been busy, alright - I hadn't kept up with the washing)
