Ta. I'm leery of searching news sites these days as I always end up staring at pictures of dead babies and believe me, I do NOT need that right now! :-)
I have always felt that the loss of a party is a loss to the democratic process, as it represents the death of a viewpoint, an attitude, and a belief - even the maligned One Not^H^H^ation had a couple of good ideas buried in the vitriol.
Fare thee well, Democrats, may you be remembered by your works, and may your successors learn from your past.
I used to be a member of the Democrats, but I've been mourning them ever since they split on whether to apply the GST to books. I've often wondered whether Howard deliberately held out on this issue primarily to destroy the party, rather than for the principle or the relatively small amount of revenue.
