Job Titles

I have to write a bio soon to advertise my September presentation to the ACS (Australian Computer Society) WA branch meeting. Unfortunately I don't really have a title, but for the purposes of the presentation "Senior Analyst" seemed appropriate.

My current boss suggested "Clarifier" (one who makes things clear), or his personal favourite "Elucidator". Mmmm, light bringer.... Lucifer?

I have a co-worker who's lucky to be officially "Boffin".

In the past I've been lucky enough to be saddled with "Design Chair" and "Quality Coach". "Process Analyst" and "Requirements Lead" were OK, "Technical Writer" is safe, but doesn't quite cut it, and I quite liked "Product Development Manager" even though no-one uses "Manager" with a straight face any more (insert appropriate apologies here).

What about you? Had any particularly unhelpful or stupid job titles?

I'm lucky - my job title remains pretty much the same. Doctor. Though I often get called 'Nurse' or 'F***ing White C***', depending on my clientele.

'technician'. There were at least 6 people in the same school with the same title, and we all did completely different things (there were actually more than six, but I'm thinking of the fact that we were all doing very different things, rather than the actual number).

equally ambiguous is 'research assistant' or 'research officer' (the latter of which is what I think I'm employed as.
