The idea of a powerchair has merits in theory but I find it extremely confrontational. I've only used a wheelchair once for a museum outing in Melbourne and that felt like an enormous step (if you'll pardon the figure of speech).

My main problem with comfort is being folded at knee and hip, so perhaps a litter carried by oiled muscly slave boys...?
