Broken rock of the day: Apophyllite crystal
You'll be seeing a lot of apophyllite; it's a group name for several very common species of mineral, and it comes in multiple forms and colours. Unfortunately this is (was) one of my better specimen pieces and it broke my heart when it broke in The Great Shelf Collapse. I found most of the bits and put them together to give you some idea of how it looked before.

This is a good rock to test my recovery from the accident; there's really no escaping the damage, but I can look at it again without grief. I wouldn't ever choose such a thing to be in my life, but since it is I can learn to adapt and treasure what I still have.
