The plot thickens
I've spent a while trying to figure out how on earth I might have injured the bit of me that insists it has been badly injured. Actually, it took a while to isolate what movement would be required to put any strain on that particular spot, and eventually I settled on a certain hip rotation. At best I could only blame overstretching, but there's still a bit of mystery.
A great light dawned this morning when I found some lesions on my leg. Now the rest of the leg is involved in the thumping-with-hammers party I'm able with perfect hindsight to identify a shingles attack. The first time it happened I spent a lot of time staggering about and going to the physio to try to treat my mystery hip injury. This hasn't started in the same place, but it's in the same neck of the woods. Even if the original pain source was something independent I'm definitely in shingle territory now, hip to toe.
Ouch. No burning or other skin FX right now, but it definitely feels like a crush injury. I hope I don't get the water-is-trickling-over-my-skin sensation. That one is *really* creepy.
I've had some codeine (chemist brand panadeine equivalent) but codeine is non-beige and from memory not very effective, so I can give up on that. From memory the effective things are also unpleasant. The best of the lot is probably Endep, which won't do much for my IQ but I'm hardly stretching my intellectual capabilities here. The *very* best thing I can do for it is put my foot up and provide minimal stimulation to the inflamed nerves. But here's the kicker - I'm actually feeling mildly energetic for a change. Stuffy-brained, but restless. Maybe I'll catch up on season 4 and 5 of Dexter.
Unfortunately I've been unable to find a suitably comfortable position to type (sitting is a big no-no, and I mustn't rest weight on half my lap) so I'll have to wrap. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere for a while.
Baths are good. I like baths.
