Husband made me do it

Quite a long time ago I was approached to organise one of the Swancon 2008 late night entertainment/game show/variety show spots, as a change from "the usual suspects". Hi usual suspects. You know who you are. We still love you.

It was a very long way off, I know Husband was missing the theatre, I was flattered to be asked. I agreed. For a time we kicked around ideas, largely stolen from Spicks and Specs. I've asked a few people to join the team in thus far vaguely defined roles.

Unfortunately I've been in doubt about doing this for a long time. In fact, I'm not keen on the idea at all. I make my friends laugh, but that's a long way from keeping a room full of tired and emotional Swancon attendees distracted for an hour. I'm well aware (and on occasion have found out painfully through second-hand comments) that my sense of humour is far from universal.

Husband insists we do it. He's looking forward to it. He's a professional entertainer. He also insisted that I make this post, convinced that the vast multitudes will flock to encourage me and I'll feel all better and get back on the performance horse. So here we are *grumble*. Should I do it? You're allowed to say no. I need you to say no if you believe it to be true. I expect this the way I'd expect you to tell me if I had something in my teeth.
