Cat fur alert
I have been concerned of late that my laptop might be overheating, and so did a quick google and found pretty quickly that dust and neglect were the most likely candidate causes. It's me, after all. So, I took a brush to the air inlet and then started picking cat fur out of the keyboard. A *lot* of cat fur.
Much to my relief the beast started up again after this treatment, so I'm back on the alert for more burning smells and odd-pitched sounds from the fan. The next phase of care involves cracking the case, at which point I may flutter my eyelashes at my hardware-savvy friends.
I have never known a laptop cracking to end well.
