A marriage saved

I made some people very happy today, and I nearly forgot.
Because I was only at work for a couple of hours it was still only mid-morning by the time I returned to the train station. An old hand at this game, I spotted a car loitering in one of the odd cul-de-sac minor carparks and knew that someone was on a fool's errand. Doubly so now, since the local council became vigorous in its pursuit of street parkers.
Not at all to my surprise the car pulled up along side me as I walked to my car. It was a middle-aged couple and I don't think I let them get past "Excuse me!" before I jingled my keys and said "It's your lucky day."
"Thank god!" said the woman, "You've saved our marriage!"
"Yes," agreed the man, "she was screaming and screaming at me..."
So they got my spot, presumably much to the disappointment of the five other vehicles hovering about.
There are no plans to extend the parking at Warwick, although the Greenwood and Whitfords carparks will be extended over the next year or two. I still can't imagine where they expect the Warwick overflow people to go in the meantime.
